Venue hire for meetings, social occasions and other functions
The LJS has facilities for private parties, weddings and receptions, meetings, classes, training and conferences. Rooms for hire include:
– The Sanctuary, which can seat up to 950 on two levels and features a raised area for lectures and performances, specialist lighting and sound systems.
– The Montefiore Hall has a small stage at one end. It will seat 150-180 in café or dining style, 300-350 theatre style or up to 250 for standing drinks or a buffet. A small, secure outdoor garden space can be accessed from the hall.
– There is also a large foyer which can be used as a reception area.
– The main lobby and large grand entrance doors can also be used as agreed for specific functions.
– The Mattuck Room is ideal for training, workshops, formal meetings and lunches. It can accommodate a boardroom table or small group seating for up to 30. This room is fully air-conditioned and has an integrated electronic whiteboard.
– The Assembly Hall, which adjoins the Mattuck Room, offers a flexible venue for groups of up to 50 people for meetings, lectures, receptions and parties or theatre style for up to 75. It has an integrated overhead LCD projector and traditional whiteboard.
– The first floor includes access to wifi, flip charts, a large lobby area which can be used as agreed.
The building has ramps for wheelchair users, a lift and WC facilities for the disabled. There are toilets on the ground and first floors. The Sanctuary has an induction loop system for the hard of hearing.
There is a brand-new professional catering kitchen available for use as agreed (non-kosher, dairy and fish only, no meat). Facilities include a conventional gas hob and electric oven, Rational combi-oven, large freezer, fridge, professional dishwasher and prep areas. Users are welcome to hire their own caterers (we can also provide contact details). Additionally, we can assist in the organisation of the delivery of food (to serve yourselves). We also provide coffee, tea, water and biscuits for a small charge.
