Join the community at the LJS for our High Holy Day services led by the LJS Rabbis.  Reflective time, evocative music and a friendly community with Liberal Jewish values.  Family services, creche facilities and plenty of children’s activities. Visitors are welcome – please email ljs@ljs.org  for information.  Apply for tickets in advance – the ticket deadlines are:

  • Rosh Hashanah: 5pm, Thursday 30 August (for posting) or 5pm on Wednesday 5 September (for collection),
  • Yom Kippur: 5pm on 6 September (for posting) or 5pm Thursday 13 September (for collection).

A list of services and timings for High Holy Days 2018 at The LJS are below.

  • Selichot: Saturday 1 September at 7:45pm
  • Erev Rosh Hashanah: Sunday 9 September, 6:45pm  – Evening Service in the Sanctuary
  • Rosh HaShanah: Monday 10 September, 10:30am – Morning Service in the Sanctuary, Family Service in the Montefiore Hall
  • Shabbat Shuvah: Friday 14 at 6:45pm and Shabbat 15 September at 11:00am.
  • Kol Nidre: Tuesday 18 September, fast commences at 6:54pm, evening service in the Sanctuary begins at 7:15pm; cellist Gemma Rosefield, will play Bruch’s Kol Nidre
  • Yom Kippur: Wednesday 19 September, 10:30am Morning service, and then services and sessions through the day, until Yizkor at 6:00pm, or 6:30pm, Concluding Service (Ne’ilah), then fast ends at 7:53pm and tea and honey cake is served.
