Tu Bi’Sh’vat,  New Year for Trees

10th February at 12:00 am

As is the custom around the world, the LJS will be marking the festival of Tu Bi’Sh’vat by planting trees or sponsoring organisations who will be planting trees. We will be supporting:
  1. Trees for Cities, who plant trees in urban woodlands all over England, (www.treesforcities.org)  and
  2. British Friends of Rabbis for Human Rights, who will be planting olive trees in the West Bank to replace groves that have been burnt down.

In addition, on the Shabbat following Tu Bi’Sh’vat, 15th February, we’ll be having a Green Kiddush, raising awareness of the ecological implications of our food shopping.

To sponsor one sapling through Trees for Cities costs £6.
