Nosh ‘n’ Drosh with Rachel Kolsky: To the Booth, to the Gallery: Jewish Suffragettes

23rd March at 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm

Join Rachel Kolsky, author of Women’s London, to discover Jewish women (and men) committed to the campaign for votes for women and equal rights for synagogue membership.  The Jewish League for Women’s Suffrage was the first organisation to link Judaism with suffrage.  Co-founders included Lily Montagu and her sister Netta Franklin and the League succeeded in breaking down barriers to political and religious emancipation.

Rachel Kolsky  is a popular prize-winning London Blue Badge Tourist Guide. Rachel has published four books, Jewish London (2012), Whitechapel in 50 Buildings (2016) and Women’s London (2018).
